ULTIMATE NEW MEMBER GUIDE TO LUDAWGS

So you're thinking about joining LuDawgs OR you've just joined LuDawgs and are now a part of the sickest Daily Fantasy Sports forum on planet Earth. You've made a wise decision (or you're about to make one by clicking HERE and registering...). This is an overview of LuDawgs.com. It will show you some of the main features and get you acclimated to your newest addiction. At its heart, LuDawgs is a DFS community. It's got a little sports betting sprinkled in, just to make things fun. Check this out.

Simple stuff first. Edit your avatar HERE! Now let's get down to business...

LuDawgs is broken into two primary forum sections.
    1. Daily Fantasy Sports - Daily fantasy sports is a new niche in the fantasy sports industry. Like traditional fantasy sports, players draft a team of real world athletes who then score fantasy points according to set scoring rules. However instead of being stuck with the same team through a whole season, daily fantasy sports contests last just one day (or in the case of NFL or NASCAR, one weekend). Daily fantasy sports is quicker and more numbers-driven. Daily fantasy sports websites do not compete for the same players as traditional sports games, but instead market themselves as complimenting traditional fantasy sports. These sites are 100% LEGAL in the US and the best of the best sponsor LuDawgs.com
    2. Sports Betting - This is where everyone posts their plays on spreads, moneylines, totals. You guys get sports betting, no real need for an explanation or definition here.

What is this "Lute" stuff anyway?

Lute is the LuDawgs.com virtual currency. Members are given Lute with each post they make of 10 words or more. It's completely transparent to most members that they're even being given this stuff. If you are participating in all of the forum discussions, you're going to notice your Lute balance going up. You can place any FREE bet you'd like with it! If you win you can exchange it for an account increase at a LuDawgs.com sponsors site - if you lose (like I do often), you just keep right on participating and you get more Lute to play with. You haven't lost anything at all really because you're not betting with your own money. By the way, the exchange rate for your Lute to $ is 1:1. So, 1.0 Lute = $1.00 at a sponsors site.

Where can I see how much Lute I have?

You can find your Lute balance in several places, but I like to just look under my avatar right here...how much Lute do you have? Am I kicking your ass?

Great. I've got this Lute...but how do I place a bet?

Glad you asked. As you get Lute for participating here at LuDawgs, you can bet it. Who doesn't like to make free bets? Look, if you're going to be posting plays, you might as well actually place your bets here in the integrated FREE sportsbook at LuDawgs...right? Here's a video that will quickly show you how to place a bet. If you want to place a bet on NBA Basketball, then you'll need to start a thread in the NBA Insight forum under the Sports Betting section of LuDawgs. That is where you'll find all of the NBA lines for the day. If you want to place a bet on MLB, then start a new thread in MLB Insight. Make sense? Here's the video that shows you a little bit about Lute betting:

    Video Walkthrough

You're telling me that I can place free bets and then cash out, but what do you really mean? Is it free and where does the cash out go?

Yes, you can actually place free bets and cash out. BUT, cash outs are made onto the sites that sponsor LuDawgs. These sites are Daily Fantasy Sports sites and LuDawgs has several to choose from. Here's why you can do that and how the concept works. LuDawgs.com takes the vast majority of the proceeds that it receives from site sponsors in exchange for them being able to post, advertise, participate, etc. on this site and it gives those dollars back to the community through Lute cash outs. Make sense? So if LuDawgs gets let's say...$200 per month from Sponsor "X" for advertising during the month of March, LuDawgs allows members to "cash out" their Lute up to 200 worth onto Sponsor "X's" site during the month of March. Every dollar that would otherwise go into the pockets of LuDawgs.com is up for Lute cash outs until the cap is hit each month. AS a member at LuDawgs, you are able to cash out 10 Lute per month to each sponsors site (as of the time of this post). So if LuDawgs has 10 sponsors, you can cash out up to 100 worth of Lute each month. When you cash out to Sponsor "X's" Daily Fantasy Sports site, you will see that in a short period of time (15 minutes - 1 day) that your balance for play at Sponsor "X's" site has increased by the amount you cashed out. Basically, LuDawgs is paying you with their proceeds to play on those sites and you never, ever are allowed to pay for it. Pretty cool!

Wait, is this all legal? YESSIR!

    1. Three elements are commonly found in most U.S. state gambling laws - "prize, chance and consideration," according to attorney and gaming-law specialist Chuck Humphrey, the author and webmaster of Gambling-Law-US.com. If any one of the three elements is absent in an activity or promotion, the activity or promotion is not considered to be gambling and is lawful.
    2. LuDawgs.com removes the element of "consideration". Since LuDawgs.com does not allow a user to place bets with his/her own money, lute is given out to members without any significant effort on their part, and ZERO benefit is received by LuDawgs.com for members post counts or participation, no "consideration" is involved, thus ensuring LuDawgs.com's legality. Essentially, the United States Congress assumes that if you’re dumb enough to give away money, then by all means, have a ball.
    3. If you don't like the fact that LuDawgs.com allows people to place FREE bets without any consideration, you can always move HERE.

What are these PayPal icons I see under everyone's avatar section?

You'll find the PayPal functionality that is integrated into LuDawgs helpful for many reasons. But the 2 primary reasons are...
    1. Sending someone a small cash "tip" as a thank you for helping you win cash - whether that's through their insight with a pick or help with a Daily Fantasy Sports write-up. If someone is helping you to win money, don't hesitate to throw the guy 50 cents or a buck! If someone is helping you win cash, feed the horse!
    2. Splitting entry fees for a Daily Fantasy Sports contest - Look, some entry fees are really high for these contest. If you and a few of your buddies here at LD want to split entry fees into a big event, have one person collect money and you guys split the entry!
How do I send cash using the PayPal function here at LuDawgs? Is it free? Are there fees?

It's really simple. You adjust that green slider to the amount that you want to send and then you click the PayPal icon right next to it. If you want to send more than the slider will allow, you can simply click on the green $1 and type in the amount you want to send, then click the PayPal button. Here's a few screen shots that shows you how I would send Insider Fantasy $6.50 through LuDawgs PayPal solution...

Once you slide and click that PayPal icon, you'll see that a fully integrated PayPal screen will launch where you can complete your transaction. Just log in and make sure you check the "remember me" button for really fast transactions. Once you're logged in, you can send someone a cash tip in just 2 clicks and it only takes a few seconds. It looks like this (names marked out)...

THERE ARE NO FEES FOR SENDING SOMEONE MONEY THROUGH PAYPAL HERE ON LUDAWGS.COM. When this site was created, LuDawgs worked with PayPal to develop the solution. They agreed that these are indeed "gifts" and are not payment for goods. Therefore, PayPal fully approved LuDawgs.com for a "Personal" payment type as the default transaction for any payment sent through this sites PayPal functionality. So what that means is if you send someone 25 cents, they get 25 cents in their PayPal account. How sweet is that?

***Here is a thread that will show you how to make your PayPal information anonymous How to Make Your PayPal Information Anonymous

I keep seeing references to "Lute tips" What is that? How does it work?

Not only can you send someone cash through PayPal for free, but you can also send someone some Lute for any old reason you'd like. All you need to do is click the Lute balance of the person you want to send some Lute to! Let's say I want to send Insider Fantasy 2.0 Lute...here's how it works!

    MY DAWGS REFERRAL PROGRAM

Hey, good news! Here at LuDawgs we have what we like to call the My Dawgs Referral Program. What this means is that every recruit you bring to the site using your referral link will give you an opportunity to be given more Lute!

How does this work? Simple. Each time one of your recruits wins a bet, we'll give you 10% of their winning amount. That doesn't take away from their winnings, it's just a bonus we give to you for bringing in new members! If they are terrible and lose every bet they make, don't worry about it - your Lute balance won't be impacted.

You can send your referral link to your friends' email addresses through the "My Dawgs" link above in the navigation bar, OR you can copy and paste your referral link wherever you'd like. You can find your specific referral link by clicking HERE.

Each time one of your recruits wins and you receive your 10% bonus, you'll see this image in your bet log:

Have fun and as always, please be respectful when promoting LuDawgs.com. Let's go recruit!

YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR BET SLIDE OUT THEME! Whoohoo! Amazing (not really, but whatever).

You have two choices, light and dark. The choice is made in General settings, just like your "My Daily" slide out. So....

Here's what the Light version looks like:

Here's what the Dark version looks like:
